About

Think of the face… as it ages as being like a partially deflated balloon. The loss of fat, bone absorption and reduced muscle tone causes the face to deflate leading to flattening of the cheek structure, lines and wrinkles and sagging of the jowls. Derma-fillers re-inflate the face producing a very natural look that generally takes years off the facial features. Generally this will give a much more “natural” appearance than a facelift. We call this process “volumising” or the “liquid facelift”. Dermal fillers are gel-like substances injected into the skin to physically lift and sculpt it, correcting wrinkles, folds, scars and asymmetries of the face. Dermal fillers are used for sculpting, shaping lips, cheeks, down turned mouth corners, chin and jawline as well as for lip enlargement. They can also be used to correct some scars, plump up the lips or correct asymmetries of the face by adding volume. Different fillers are used to address different skin problems. The most popular dermal fillers are hyaluronic acid and calcium hydroxyapatite. Indications - Wrinkles and lines - Lip augmentation and volum - Sensitive skin around the eyes - Delicate lip area - Treatment of acne scars - Hand tops When does the effect appear and how long does it last? The treatments for wrinkle smoothing with hyaluronic acid are highly effective, they provide immediate effects, but they are not performed once and for good. After 9-12 months, hyaluronic acid preparations gradually undergo degradation and they are completely absorbed. Then, the treatment should be repeated which, on the one hand, may be considered a disadvantage, but on the other hand – an advantage, because this makes them completely safe. They guarantee that after some time the effect will disappear and it will not cause a permanent change in the face appearance. Thus, the process is 100 percent reversible in time. Post-treatment recommendations After treatment, strong sunlight exposure (tanning bed) and heating (sauna) should be avoided for two weeks. Contraindications and adverse reaction - Pregnancy, breastfeeding, - Autoimmune diseases, - Tendency to develop hypertrophic scars, - Skin inflammation (herpes, acne), - Hypersensitivity to hyaluronic acid, - cancer. **Note!** The interval between the treatment and other skin rejuvenation methods (botulinum toxin injections – Botox, laser therapy, chemical peel, microdermabrasion) should be at least 3 weeks. **Adverse reaction** - Redness, swelling, - Pain at the place of injection – these symptoms disappear within 72 hours, - Itching in case of sensitive skin, - Hypersensitivity at the corrected area, - Occasionally – swelling in the form of nodes remaining for a few weeks.
